The price of copper is generally determined by the main metal exchanges: the London Stock Exchange; the Commodity Exchange Inc. (COMEX) of New York, and the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE). The price of copper fluctuates according to the behavior of supply and demand; also, by the action of financial investors who take positions on the future value of the metal.
